Chantelle, former student of Wodensborough Ormiston Academy, studies Psychology at the University of Leicester.

At Wodensborough Chantelle studied Psychology as she was intrigued by the subject; she has always been an individual that loves to question why about everything, and it fit her personality perfectly! After studying the subject at school, she knew that this was the career path for her, and her dream role is now to be a clinical psychologist. Chantelle supported dementia patients at a care home whilst at college and she was a fire cadet for 7 years for the West Midlands fire service whilst she was at school.

At times she was unsure about university and had considered apprenticeships as an option. University felt scary for her as she feels like she must work hard to get good grades.

Chantelle’s advice when thinking about your post-16 choices:

  • Don’t underthink it! You are going to go in and out of phases where you really want to have a certain job and then you realise ‘that’s not for me.’
  • You have a lot of time to explore who you are as an individual and what you are looking for from life, so don’t take it too seriously, don’t beat yourself up, but you have the life and your whole life to decide what you really want to do… so take it easy on yourself!
