This accreditation allows us to complete all in-house testing for the Environment Agency and regulatory compliance. The accreditation provides independent assurance of technical competence and a high level of quality.
The management of the water treatment plant at Drax is fundamental to boiler chemistry. We manage the plant to ensure high quality pure water Is produced as any impurities can lead to issues with the integrity of the boiler circuits, and failure to do this can have catastrophic effects on the boilers and turbines through corrosion and deposits can lead to huge economic costs through forces outage.
I also troubleshoot, compile reports, manage budgets, procure bulk chemicals, and monitor usage, manage the chemical dosing plant, investigate non-conformity, audit, and manage contracts. I am responsible for boiler chemistry, Legionella control and water treatment at the power plant.
